The Day:
A lot of our enjoyment of life, is spoilt by one very seemingly
small thing. The understanding of just what ‘a
day’ is.
Sounds strange you say? Let us look at some Scriptures.
“This is the day that the Lord has made” ~ Not
‘the week’ or ‘month’ but ‘The
Day’ ~
Jesus said, “Take no thought for tomorrow, what you shall
eat, what you shall drink, for tomorrow shall take thoughts for
itself” It’s ok to make plans for tomorrow, just
don’t stress out about it! He has said “I will never
leave you, nor forsake you” He meant it too!
In the Lord's prayer, Jesus said..“give us this day,
our daily bread..“
“His mercies are new every morning” ~ Again, not
every week but every morning..
We see our lives as connecting series of events, which in one way
they are but we should be looking at each and every day as a new
event in our lives, as opposed to a continuation of Yesterdays.
Not understanding this, we bring along yesterday’s baggage
into our ‘New Day’ ~ Last weeks problems, last months
hurts.. and already, the day is getting heavy.
Even the old song goes “but that was yesterday and
yesterday’s gone” ~ So let it go. You cannot change
it and living with regrets will spoil today and effect tomorrow.
We have all made mistakes and should and could have done things
better.. BUT “His mercies are new every morning”
“We make statements like. “I’ve been doing this
for 2 weeks now and it’s not working out” ~ Thinking
like this will get your flesh weary! - Check it out and see if
this is right.. looking back is NOT good! ~ Ask Lot’s
wife!!
Then on top of this, we add tomorrow worries to it!
The reason is, God Almighty deals in ‘Days’ ~ Read
the first chapter of Genesis. On the first day, God
created… On the second day, He created, on the third
day… and so on.. He deals with days, not weeks or months..
He says “I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts
of good and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” ~
Nice thoughts, Lets have confidence in them too!
His mercies are new every morning, so let go of yesterday's
baggage that weighs you down. If you blew it yesterday, rejoice
today! ~ If you think your wore out His mercies yesterday, then
rejoice, for they are new today and every day.. and they start in
the morning, not at lunch time.
Treat your baggage as just that.. suitcases that carry yesterdays
problems. Leave them outside! Don’t pick them up and carry
them around all day! ~ “Casting ALL you cares, mental
worries and torments onto Him, for His concern is for you”
The word ‘cast’ means ‘to throw with a sudden
jerk.. So do it! He is Big enough to handle them.. we’re
not! He is ‘concerned’ for us!
Look at the parable of the Prodigal son.. It says ‘but when
the father saw him a great way off..’ That means he was
actively looking for him! Every day, the Father would look down
the road to see if he could see his son! Then it says “and
when he saw him, he ran towards him” ~ Not a leisurely
stroll but ‘ran’ ~ He couldn’t wait to get to
him! Jesus says this is your Heavenly Fathers attitude towards
you! ~ He is watching.. and just can’t wait to get involved
with you .. today!
Let go of all the baggage that your are carrying into each new
day. Forgive, let go of the hurts and disappointments and rejoice
in what His grace has prepared for you today! Start by praying
for those that have wronged you, as Jesus said and you will be
surprised what will happen.
“If you then, being natural, know how to give good things
to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father give
good things to them that ask Him” I was reading this one
time, when the words ‘How much more’ exploded. The
air around me was filled with a thousand voices, all saying
“How much more!.. how much more!.. how much more!” I
sat there in awe.. He is actively looking for opportunities to
bless and help you.. Today.. All He asks, is that you let go of
all this baggage and simply believe and give thanks, as a little
child does..

He said to me a couple of months ago when I was getting a bit
discouraged.
"It’s SO easy to receive from
God son, simply believe"
Now DON"T just say 'That was nice' - I want
you to get this into your heart. It will change your life and put
you in a postition to receive from Him for the rest of your days
and enable you to 'Be a blessing' as He
promised our father Abraham. Print it out, or bookmark it and
read it over and over. Study the Scriptures and ask the Holy
Spirit to help you. I am only a man and the best I can give you
is information based on my 24 years with Jesus BUT
the Holy Spirit will give you revelation! and
that's when faith (and joy) comes!!
