The
power of our authority in Jesus.
“Behold, look and take notice! I give you power
(authority) over all of the power (ability) of the enemy. YOU
shall trample on serpents and scorpions (demons and devils) and
over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means
harm you!" Luke10:19 ~ ".. for the Kingdom of God is
not in word but in power and in the Holy Spirit”Luke
10v22
Here's a copy of an email regarding the recent teaching on
authority I sent out. I record it here to the praise of the glory
of His grace Who loved us and gave himself for us..
Hi Brother John,
Just wanted to send you this short message to thank you and the
Lord Jesus Christ for the wisdom He gave you through the Holy
Spirit to share this Newsletter. It helped me a lot, it just
happened to myself last weekend to use the authority given us by
Christ to cast out spirits that were harrassing my body and my
children. I couldn't believe the instant change I experienced
immediately after my prayer of authority as you so well
indicated.
You know sometimes, something so good happen to you, and
you're afraid and wonder whether it's gonna last or not.
But yes, it lasts, here I am testifying that it's
gone! Then, I shared it immediately with my English Club
members on Saturday. Brother you cannot imagine how powerful God
used your example of a dog that would come in your house /
garden. I just drew a picture on the whiteboard of a man standing
in front of his house, then I drew the fence of the yard /
compound with open gate. I drew a dog that has come in the yard
through the open gate and just standing in front of the man. Then
I asked my friends: "What do you do in such a situation? Do
you call God to come and help you? Or what?" It made sense
to everybody to say : "Chase the dog is what you do!"
It was great and may you be blessed as God give you these
powerful insights for His Church, the body of Christ.
In Christ,
Cornelius
Here's the Dog in the garden
example..
The Dog and the Garden:
Here's an example I use.. Let's say you are a keen
gardener. You have spent a lot of time making a beautiful
garden.. One day, you come out and find a stray dog in your
garden digging it up! There is mess everywhere!..
Question: Now what are you going to do?
You have three choices about that which now confronts you:
1) You can do nothing, in which case the dog will continue
to mess up your garden!
2) Are you going to stop and pray.. "Dear Lord.
Won't you please do something about this dog! It's
destroying my beautiful garden and making a mess
everywhere!"
or
3) Are you going to use your authority, grab a broom and
drive it out of your garden! ~ "Get out of my garden!"
you shout with the broom swinging!
Get the point!~ Jesus has already given us
authority and He expects us to use it! We tend to spend time in
prayer (and that's good!) instead of driving that which
troubles us, out of our lives. You have power in Jesus name to
drive out the things that are messing up your life!
There is a time to pray and a time to
say..
Prayer verses authority:
Prayer is asking the Father
for something in Jesus name.. (John16:23)
ie: "Father in the name of Jesus, I ask you for.."
Authority is telling the devil to
do something! (John14:12 and Luke10:19)
ie: "Devil, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, get your
hands off my mind and body! You have no rights in my life, for it
is written.. 'In righteousness shall you be established, you
shall be far from oppression, it shall not come near you"
(Isaiah.54) It is written.. " I am a blood covenant person.
I have been redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ.. you have no
rights over me in Jesus name!"
Get the idea?
Remember.. God is no respecter of persons! What He has done for
one, He will do for all.. The only difference is... that this
brother 'did' it! ~ "Be ye doers of the Word and not
hearers only, deceiving your own selves" James.. "He
that hears my Word and doesmy sayings, him I liken
to a man who built his house upon a rock.." Jesus
God bless you and keep you in His love and grace.
Your brother in Christ
John
God Bless
